External Newel Post to Floor Spring Bolt
 
Overview
The External Newel Post to Floor Spring-Bolt (255mm) is designed for joining newel posts to the floor. Ideal for decking projects such as perimeter balustrading, balconies and steps.  The newel can be fixed directly onto the decking reducing the installation time by half compared to standard fixing kits.
 
Just ensure that you have provided adequate timber blocks below the decking that are secured to the joists to accommodate the lower spring.  When used in conjunction with the Handrail Spring-Bolt the final result is a structure of considerable strength and rigidity.
 
Installation
The External Newel Post to Floor Spring-Bolt kit is simple to fit requiring only basic carpentry skills and a 35mm Bit. Spring-Bolt Epoxy Glue should be used to combine the springs and centre bar. Both these products are available in our online shop.
 
Like all of the Spring-Bolt range the External Newel Post to Floor Spring-Bolt can be dry assembled and disassembled as many times as is necessary should you find you need to make minor adjustments prior to glueing. 
 
The recommended adhesive for the handrail endgrain is Titebond 111, or similar.
